Cohen began his counterterrorism service in Israels ‘mista'aravim’ or 'Arabist' unit (Hebrew: מסתערבים; Arabic: مستعربين, romanized: musta'ribīn) which is the name given Israels elite counterterrorism units that operate undercover. These units are specifically trained to assimilate among the local Arab population and are tasked with performing high risk terrorist arrests, intelligence gathering, and targeted assassinations; and use disguise and surprise as their main weapon.
He is a seasoned law enforcement professional who represents the authentic Israeli know-how and has trained hundreds of police agencies and military units units in Israeli counterterrorism for high threat response, and he currently serves as a Lieutenant (Reserve) with a US Sheriff’s Department where he has volunteered for the last fifteen years. He helps facilitate advanced tactical training for patrol, SRO’s and SWAT and is an active SWAT team member assisting with various high risk operations.
Cohen is the author of the bestselling memoir Brotherhood Of Warriors: Behind Enemy Lines With a Commando In One The Worlds Most Elite Counter-Terrorist Units. The book was published by Harper Collins and is now available in 8 languages.
Cohen has worked extensively in film and television and was one of Keanu Reeves’ instructors for the John Wick Franchise which has grossed over 1 billion worldwide.
